Eco – Marina
The sea is the most precious gift we have, and we want to play our part in protecting and improving it.
Marina d'Arechi is an innovative and modern piece of infrastructure, among the most important in Italy, in part because it is in harmony with nature.
From the beginning, we have paid great attention to the principles of sustainability, from conception through to management.

ARCHITECTURE
The architecture of the Marina was designed with sustainability and respect for nature at its core. The port was built away from land to avoid impact on the hydrogeological balance of the coast and to help contribute to the series of interventions planned by local administration for the maintenance and protection of the coast. The breakwater which hugs the waters of the port is one of the innovative elements which makes it unique. Made from natural rocks, which act as a filter for port waters, it safeguards the marine flora and fauna. The robust piers are made from recycled wood. -
DEDICATED STAFF MEMBER
We decided to include a staff member dedicated entirely to environmental policies, tasked with constantly monitoring and updating internal procedures and with organising informational events and activities involving the entire community. -
PLASTIC FREE
We are working to completely eliminate the use of plastic from our offices, using only biodegradable cups, plates, and napkins. -
RECYCLING
We have four recycling areas available to guests, and we collect plastic, aluminium, paper, cardboard, glass and organic waste regularly from our offices. -
HAZARDOUS WASTE
In line with legal requirements, we have created a dedicated storage area for hazardous waste. The waste is collected and disposed of in such a way as to avoid risks to man or to the environment.
-
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Public use areas on the quay are all designed with sustainability in mind (water taps with timers. for example). -
WATER TREATMENT
The water produced during ship maintenance is diverted to treatment plants so that it does not end up flowing untreated into the sea. -
INTERNAL MOBILITY
We provide a free bike-sharing service within the Marina. Our strategic position is also important as it allows sustainable transportation via public transport systems (bus-metro). -
BLUE FLAG
Marina d\Arechi has a Blue Flag, a prestigious international award assigned by FEE to harbours with strategies strongly focused on environmentally friendly practices, sustainable tourism, careful waste management and the protection of natural habitats. -
ISO 14001
We have adopted a certified management system to keep control of the environmental impact of Marina activities, with a specific focus on sustainability. -
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
We promote environmental education by organising frequent events with schools and other institutions. We are convinced that the leisure boaters of tomorrow must have knowledge of and respect for the sea.
